Science and Matter

This weeks Explora Science Club was tons of fun! The instructer was animated, interesting and child-friendly. And he knew how to do a lot of neat stuff!
The theme was "Facts of The Matter" and covered atoms in motion—fast or slow—and how that determines the states of matter we know. They used liquid nitrogen (-320 degrees Fahrenheit), water, alka seltzer tablets to create gas, different shaped solid matter to test weight, size and sound and how they could be affected by individual and combined influences. All the students explored the properties of solids, liquids, gases and plasma and even created their own 'Plastic" by mixing Borax, white glue and water. Cool stuff!
