Jenna Exploring Explora

Jenna loves visiting these Red Ear Slider Turtles every time we go to Explora. She loves to watch them swim and climb the rocks. She knows the difference between the male and female, too. Male has a longer tail and claws. Neat!
A Jennaliedascope!
We always stop in to say Hello to the two Bearded Dragons. Today they regaled us with some silly climbing antics over and on top of each other. They also showed us how a bearded dragon eats (slurping with their tongue)and what foods are their favorites (crickets, fruits and veggies).
Oh Man! This cheese display is nasty! But it's also quite enlightening, too. Jenna was fascinated with the old bread display Explora had up last month. The Wonder Bread lasted for weeks without even a touch of mold bacteria!
And the cheese that has resisted the mold in this experiment? American Cheese. Yep! That nasty processed cheese, the kind that many people feed their kids. Yuk!

Some people who stop by say that the fact that Wonder Bread or American Cheese resists mold for so long, makes them prefer to choose that type over other brands/types.
But are they really understanding WHY these types of food are not being affected by mold, while the other whole, natural foods are affected so much quicker and more fully?
If they really want to know, it's because these foods are so processed with chemicals, stabilizers and artificial ingredients that not even bacteria want to touch it. Then why do we choose to eat it?
We can't visit Explora without stopping in to make a few magical bubbles.
