Jackson always likes to take a few minutes to challenge himself with this game where the object is to slide 4-6 round discs in a wooden square, up a wall riddled with various sized holes......without losing any of the discs into any of the holes.
Emray, Allison's son, one of the boys' friend's from our Homeschool Co-op group was there today. Jackson & Jeremiah enjoyed doing Mind Storms with him.
Jackson always surprises me with some new technique he has perfected and created for his robot. Yes, that's my Jenna relaxing under the robotics table. hehe
Our friend, Sylvia and her son, Dan.
This week is Chemistry week at Explora, so they have extra hands-on experiments to try all week. This one involves using recycled plastic to make "Shrinky Dinks". Apparently, only #6 recycled plastic has the chemical compounds that allow it to melt and shrink without cracking, burning, or smoking.
Here they are being melted. Jackson and Jeremiah spent a bit of time creating artistic designs at this station. Keenan, one of our favorite Explora educators designed the coolest looking snake. Jeremiah also had something in common with Keenan, too. They both design and create comic book characters and stories. Keenan makes "Kung Fu Joe". Jeremiah and Keenan have planned to bring their works to Explora next week to share. Jeremiah is very excited about sharing his "Lightning Man, Power Man" Comics with Keenan!
Here are some of Jackson & Jeremiah's final 'Shrinky Dink' completed results. My favorites are Jackson's colorful placard and Jeremiah's Baseball inspired tag.
