A Bale of Hay

Call me sentimental, call me silly, call me whatever you like. But I had a big smile on my face while driving around town with a very large bale of hay in the back of my van.
The hay is for our guinea pigs and rabbits, of course. And in the past I have always gotten it for free, at our local feed store, from picking up the leftover flakes from the ground from broken bales. But with all the snow we've had, it's been impossible to gather enough dry, clean, green hay. So we decided to finally purchase a bale. Which by the size of this one, will probably last us more than a few months!! hehe

Anyway, the reason I had a big goofy grin on my face while galomphing about in my van all morning, with this honkin' big bale of hay in the back, was because I felt, at least temporarily, like I was in some private club, "The Club of Horse/Livestock Owners".
I daydreamed about the beautiful, hungry horse that I had waiting for me at home, and how it would munch happily from this rich green, earthy timothy hay.

Just thinking about that secret, hidden, hunk-of-hay bale back there made me smile. If only it is a dream, a hope, and a wish.

I like that vision.
A bale of hay = horse dreams........
