Lobster Mobster Lives!

I've been a bad Crayfish Mama! Poor Lobster Mobster has been basically neglected for most of the winter, relegated to a Sterilite container in the garage, because of the fishy stench that hovers around his living quarters, and the worry that Oreo would have scooped him out for a cat snack.

So the most we've done all winter is drop in a little scoop of canned catfood every few days, and if we remembered, we'd clean his Sterilite container. At one time, during this cold weather, with me not wanting to spend any time in the chilly garage, he went 3 weeks without a water change!
I really thought he'd be dead, but he looked wonderful! In fact he has grown larger over the winter, too!

In case you don't remember, we caught Lobster Mobster last August in a Corrales Acequia (basically a water ditch that delivers water from the Rio Grande River to irrigate agricultural land. Jackson caught him with a fishing rod and a hot dog chunk as bait.

And Lobster Mobster is still alive!! Yay!!!

Lobster Mobster want to pinch Jax for holding him upside down! Jax is fearless!

Here's Lobster Mobster in his Sterilite container.

Lobster Mobster enjoys taking naps on top of his rocks. Sometimes he makes these odd clicking noises that sound as if he is snoring. hehe
