WiFi News

I discovered this information last week and thought it was kind of cool.

In 2004, Albuquerque became the first and only governmental entity in the State of New Mexico to provide FREE wireless access at various hotspots in Albuquerque. This means that citizens or visitors within the coverage area can access the Internet and enjoy browsing the web, checking and sending e-mail, chatting through instant messaging services, etc.

To enjoy the free wireless access, you only need a functioning device (laptop computer, PDA, Pocket PC) that contains a properly configured wireless network adapter. In October, 2005, the City announced the addition of wireless access on Albuquerque’s 12 wireless-enabled Rapid Ride buses, shown on the map. Read more about wifi on Rapid Ride buses
