Snake Digestion

While our friends are away for 2 weeks we will be taking care of their 3 dogs,3 cats and 1 snake. Before Sybelle, Arnold, Ingo and Bibiana left on Monday morning, Ingo went through the steps in preparing dinner for Mr. Snake so we would know what to do on our own.

Here's Ingo holding the beautiful snake. Ingo is a very cool 13 year old boy. Jax and Jem got along great with him and wished Ingo was their big brother.

Thawing a frozen mouse. Yummy.

Mr. Snake preparing to strike! (The snake has his own terrarium, but to feed him, the snake is placed in a cardboard box. This way, every time a human hand reaches into his home, he won't think it is bringing food, and he won't learn to bite hands. This is a good thing.)

Mr. Snake believes he's got a 'live-one'. He tries to suffocate the mouse first before swallowing it. The entire process is pretty cool. Next week(snakes eat only once a week) we are on our own. Bon Appetit!
