Jenna has a fondness for bugs, frogs, snakes, and lizards. She especially is fascinated with all kind of beetles. We put a poster of insects and beetles in her room and she refers to it every day asking the species, telling us the species and what they eat and what environment they each prefer.
She has always enjoyed non-typical 'girlie' animals, like sharks and elephants. Well, her favorite color IS grey, you know!
But she does still like horses, puppies and kitties. Her favorite movies are Flipper, 101 Dalmations, and Lady & The Tramp.
Recently we stopped off in Target and she immediately noticed some plastic bugs (a lady bug and a stag beetle) and a rubber, squishy frog and asked ever so nicely if she could take them home. Of course, I said yes! The price was only $1.00 for each, and Jenna rarely asks me to buy anything while we are shopping. She seems to enjoy browsing, looking around at things and people, and just hanging out with me.
So, now we have bugs and a frog that travel everywhere we go, take baths with Jenna, and sleep in our bed. At least, for the time being, Jenna is happy keeping rubber and plastic critters as pets.....
