Letterboxing~Tomball, TX

We had some letterboxing fun yesterday in Burroughs Park in Tomball, TX, about 20 minutes from The Woodlands. We found 8 really nice letterboxes with some beautiful hand carved stamps inside. Most of the boxes had been placed in October during The Great Book Adventure Letterboxing Gathering, so they had some clever literary themed stamps inside. During one particular hike we came upon a large tawny deer about 20 feet away. We were all mezmerized for about 3 minutes, and then watched as the deer leapt away!
We also hiked about 5 miles in the heat and humidity to find the boxes. We were hot and sweaty and missing the dry air of New Mexico! When we got back to Aeri's house, the pool was SO refreshing! Aaaahhhh!

Here are two of our favorites letterboxes. Notice, even the log books are beautifully detailed.:

We also spent some time goofing off in the playground, too. Jenna was thrilled to find the dino to ride.
Jax looks like Mark Twain's little Huckleberry Finn, doesn't he?
