Los Poblanos Organic Community Garden

We stopped off at our homeschool co-op community garden today to weed and water and took a few pics.

We weren't able to get the shed locks to open, so we couldn't use the watering cans. So instead we used a couple buckets laying around to carry water to our garden row from the water barrel. Los Poblanos irrigates the entire garden on Wednesdays, but under the dry, hot New Mexico sun, we must water more often. It was a hot day. Glad we brought some water to guzzle! Jenna worked hard pulling weeds and built up quite a thirst! Here's our row right there in the middle of the pic. We've got carrots, tomatoes, turnips, lettuces, flowers, peppers, and cucumbers sprouting and growing.Jackson watering our row.Jenna and I watering the turnips and carrots.Jenna is very into taking care of the garden. She is also quite hands-on and helpful in whatever we do. I really love having her go everywhere with me. She is such a joy to have around and such a wonderful daughter.
(And yes, I can see that it's time for 1000 sit-ups. Yikes! Not a good position for my tum-tum! I suppose having 3 children, twins weighing 7 pounds EACH, followed by an 11 pound baby girl, takes it's toll on the old tummy muscles. Eeek!)
