Because we got such a late start from Benson, AZ, and we took the scenic way to New Mexico, it was time to overnight in the tiny town of Glenwood, NM, so we would have more time to explore The Catwalk, and later, the Very Large Array tomorrow.
We spent the night in a very rustic motel which Jax, Jem and Jen considered the greatest adventure ever. The Lariat Motel was very simple and nothing fancy. But the kids had a blast exploring the hillsides and area around the motel. And the nice folks at the motel gave us a large room with 2 double beds and one single bed. There were mooing cows in the field nearby and mountains on all sides. I enjoyed just sitting outside on the front porch of the motel room admiring the views and enjoying the peace and quiet.
We woke up sort of early so we could get out and hike the Catwalk trail before it got too hot. So, we all look a little bit sleepy still.
