I was amazed to find fruit on it because the tree is considered ornamental, not particularly fruit bearing. About twelve years ago, my Grandma passed away and left me a little bit of money. I wanted to buy something lasting to honor and remember her. At the time we were living in our first house in North Hills, Rio Rancho, but soon after planting the tree we decided to buy a bigger house so we could plan for some future children.
So, we decided to take our special 'grandma' tree with us, and I planted it in our new front yard, where we still live now!
And now 12 years later, our ornamental tree is large and beautiful and producing little, juicy, delicious plums!
Where there is a will there is a way!
Jeremiah enjoyed sucking the juice out of the fruit. YUm!
