Well, we've been in our new house for over 4 months and we are just now getting our daughter's bed put up in her room. Which until now has been only a playroom and clothing storage area. Jenna has been co-sleeping with us since she was about 2 yrs old. She slept in her own bed briefly from the time she was a year old until 2, though.
When we moved back to New Mexico she decided she wanted to co-sleep again, which was fine with us, of course. Recently, though she has shown interest in having her very own bed in her own room, so we finally got a mattress and boxspring, and pulled out my old canopy bed set from when I was a young girl.
The bedroom set is more than 30 yrs old, if that gives you any idea of my age. hehe I've lost most of the canopy pieces, but the bed headboard and footboard somehow survived, mostly unscathed, through countless moves over the years.
It's kind of neat seeing my own sweet daughter sleeping in the same bed that I did from the time I was about 8 until I moved out on my own. And Jenna really seems to like this bed, too.
She hasn't actually 'slept' in it yet, but I'm sure with time she will. There's no rush.
