We had a fantastic fun time at our our local homeschool group's Valentine's Party yesterday. We had 47 homeschooled kids (!!) and 10-15 Moms in attendance and the event was amazingly well organized and it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves.
We are finally feeling like we've found a good match in a homeschool group, and best of all the group is located in our mountains and most of the activities are planned locally, as well.
We are enjoying the people and the activities alot and the kids have made quite a few friends, too.
Yesterday's V-Day party was a smashing success!
Jackson feeling quite proud of his decorated V-Day Treat Bag
Time to Eat! Potluck style! (There was SO much yummy food!)
A crew of Jax and Jem's friend's (Jem at the end in burgundy shirt, Jax wearing the purple hat he knitted last year). Jenna in the back munching her corn dog and broccoli.
Finishing up the delicious meal and great fellowship.
Bingo!! We then played a fun Valentine's Bingo game...with prizes, too!
Jenna and her friend worked together (one of my 'LaMancha goat' buddy, Jennifer's, daughters)
Do you see that picture of the planet there? I was amazed when Jenna called it the "Rings of Saturn"....where did she hear that?? Makes me realize that kids are ALWAYS learning!
Jenna won Bingo!! She chose this book.
Jackson won double Bingo, but because he won at the end there wasn't a whole lot to choose from. He picked out the pencil and eraser and then decided upon this beautiful Usborne book to give to his sister, because Jenna is working on a "Chicken/Eggs" project in 4-H this Spring/Summer. He's such a sweet generous brother/son.
Time for Crafts!!
Jenna enjoyed decorating her treat bag very much.
There was also a doorknob sign to decorate, too. Jackson made one, but Jeremiah said it was not permited to hang on their door. It's pink, ya know!!
We had 47 kids attending the party, but thankfully only 37 kids participated in the Valentine's Treat Exchange. (Shhh! We ended up running out of cards! ack!)
All lined up. Jeremiah admiring all of the bags.
There were so many beautifully decorated treat bags. Our homeschool group has lots of creative kids.
All the kids lined up to distribute their cards and goodies.
Jax, Jem and one of their buddies.
Time for the Cake Walk!! Many many pretty and yummy cupcakes ready to be chosen by the kids.
The kids doing the Cake Walk
Jem picked out the Scooby Doo ring cupcakes, Jackson chose the red and white sprinkles cupcakes, adn Jenna chose the pink whipped cream cupcakes. Wow!
The kids could pick out some cute coloring pages, too.
After the party, during clean-up, some of the kids played outside on the playground.
It was such a warm day here in the beautiful mountains! Up on Sandia Peak, in the background(click pic for larger view), you can see snow, though. My 3 kidlets had a great time playing outside with some friends.
What a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day!
