Letterboxing~Urban Forest

Went letterboxing again today and discovered a terrific little park in ABQ called Urban Forest where a letterbox was hidden that enclosed a beautiful hand-carved stamp. So far, one of my favorites, too!

As soon as we started walking, we came upon a pair of road runners flirting, and doing a mating dance, with the male chasing the female carrying a stick and then a lizard in his mouth, while fanning out his wings and tail feathers to impress her.

A little later, we discovered another food source for the road runners: snails! There were dozens of empty snail shells below several trees. It was apparent that the center area of this park fills up with water after a rain and becomes a little marsh area where water-loving creatures can survive.
Here's a male with some treats in his beak for the female.
