Solar Engineer

Back in September, John bought Jackson a Solar kit, called SolaBug. Jackson was very excited to get started with it, but after we looked at the instructions we didn't think it was in our capabilities at the time.
But recently Jackson's interest in doing this project caused him to pull this SolaBug back out. I still didn't feel all the techno details were in my capabilities, but Jackson felt he was ready, so he plunged full-force into it.

John and I have been completely amazed at Jackson's abilities. He is a born engineer and is able to read and understand intricate and detailed instructions on any sort of building project. All by himself he constructed and engineered this Solar project in only 3 days of off-and-on-work. I cannot even begin to say how proud and in awe I am of him. Notice the kit says "Recommended for 10 yrs old and up". Jackson still has 2 more days to go until he turns 10.........
The Parts List (Many itty, bitty screws, nuts, connectors, wires, etc, etc)
Two long pages of detailed, intricate instructions.
More instructions on the back.
Jackson constructing SolaBug.
More construction.
So many tiny parts to add.

Jackson completed the project and explained to all of his how the Solar Creature works.
We watched in awe at the SolaBug walking....with batteries and also completely on Solar Power!
We were SO impressed. And even though Jackson is pretty humble about his accomplishments, he was also proud that he did this project all on his own.
Way to go, Jackson!!!
