Placed our First Letterbox!

We are having such a blast with this Letterboxing. Not only is it terrific outdoor exercise, but it's quality time with my kids, visiting places we might not normally visit, and discussing all sorts of things about the places and things we experience along the way. The weather has been gorgeous here, in the upper 70's, sunny and with bright blue skies. The New Mexico weather I love is here and we are having a great time outside in it!
On Friday we gathered up our new letterboxes we created, so that we could hide them in the great outdoors for others to find it. It was so much fun creating and packing up the stamp, log book and box supplies, all with the anticipation that someone would find it and smile when discovering it's contents.

Our first box was hidden out on the Rio Rancho mesa, near a new development called "Mariposa", which means "Butterfly. When hiding this letterbox, a real live Mariposa fluttered beside us, as if blessing the letterbox we hid there.

A pic of the kids below the Mariposa art sculpture, quite striking in it's high mesa location.
