Southern NM Letterboxing

We volunteered to take care of a fellow homeschooler's family's house and pets while they drove up the West Coast to attend a Homeschooler's Camp followed by the Unschooler's 'Life is Good' gathering. We were itching to get-out-of-dodge, and the hum drum of our stressful and in-a-rut lives, while seeing new sites, hunting for cool letterboxes and helping another family so they could get away, too.

The drive through NM on I-25 south was breathtaking with the bright blue skies backdropping the glorious white snow topped mountains.

On our way down to Southeastern Arizona to house/pet sit for friends, we stopped off at a few letterboxes in New Mexico.

Our first letterbox was discovered in Hatch,NM...."The Chile Capital of the World!", with fields and fields of New Mexico Chile Peppers growing and a little town full of stores selling all sorts of Chile Products, we expected, and were not disappointed to find that the letterbox stamp was a beautiful hand-carved chile pepper!
