Tuscon Electric Park~Letterboxing

John flew into Tucson last night when his flight to Charlotte from Phoenix was interrupted due to maintenance. Since we were just 3 hours south, he decided to fly down and spend a couple days with us. Yay!

Yesterday we did a little bit of Tucson exploring.

Tucson Electric Park is the Spring Training home of the 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks, 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox, and to the Diamondbacks' AAA affiliate, the Tucson Sidewinders. Tucson Electric Park is located at 2500 East Ajo Way, in the Kino Sports Complex. The Complex spans over 150 acres and in addition to the Stadium, includes 12 practice fields, 3 practice infields, and 3,800 parking spaces. Tucson Electric Park is the perfect place to come and enjoy Major League action from March to September.

We were here to find a letterbox, of course! We tried to follow the letterbox clues, which had us walking the entire sports complex to explore the park but it was 108 scorching degrees. Even though a few clouds rolled in, it was difficult to enjoy the scenery when we were panting in a semi-heat stroke.
So, we ended up walking across the beautiful pedestrian bridge, but turned back to our car, and then made this letterbox into a sort of drive-by instead. Inside the box was a terrific "Boys of Summer" hand-carved stamp!
