Today we did the final Walk-Thru before the Closing on our new home on Thursday.
The Sellers have already moved out and traveled on to their new lives in Oklahoma, so the house was competely empty and ready for a new family and new life to be breathed into those rooms.
We spent about 2 hours walking about, planning, imagining, talking, and getting excited. The kids seem to love it there...all the wide open space to roam, trees to climb, cool stuff to explore. As soon as we arrived they just took off to the pasture area.
In just 2 days we will be moving to the mountains. We've come so far and had to endure so many obstacles, trials and challenges, just to get to this place in our lives.
Before the accident that changed our family's lives on March 14, 2005 we sat on top of the hill, heads above the rest of the world and unaware of what others were going through. We were too comfortable. We were too naive, undeniably clueless.
We then barreled to the very bottom of the hill, and stayed that way until God was sure we understood the true meaning of what we have been through these past 2 1/2 years, and how to remain worthy, wide-eyed, aware and whole in His eyes and heart.
We've come a long way and been blessed by many amazing angels that God has sent our way. So many awe-inspiring situations that have happened to us so that we know only God could be responsible.
We held onto our faith, we trusted in Him, we didn't give up. We knew that He would pull us through, if our hearts remained pure, open and trusting. Each and everytime that we thought we couldn't take anymore, each time we were at the end of our ropes....a few times almost homeless, and many times without food for our table....God sent us some relief. Our friends, family, church family, and even strangers. He really does know when we humans can't take anymore. He also knows what we need and also blesses us with what we want, if we only stay true and have trust.
I prayed that my future home would have a fruit orchard. I figured if my home didn't come with some fruit trees, I could always plant some. But God knew my heart. He blessed our new home with gifts for our family.....
apricot, peach and apple trees.
This bountiful basket is filled with beautiful, crisp apples from the fruit trees that grace our new home.
