This class was fun and involved designing and building a structure based on popular memorial style structures, such as the type seen in Washington D.C, in Rome, and Egypt, as well as all over the world. These are types of structures that often times don't follow a style or theme and are not always practical. The students also learned about common architectural elements, such as arches, vaults, columns, tunnels, struts, and domes. They first created hand-drawn blueprints and then transfered their ideas to 3-D paper structures or models.
Jackson's memorial was dedicated to "All Things that are Living". He used classical arches, vaults and columns.
Jeremiah's structure is a memorial devoted to our family's aviation history and is dedicated, "Flying Love".
