(Excuse the 'foggy' dark photos. I kept forgetting to use the disposable camera's flash in the hotel.)
Our attorney 'loaned' us his family's Nanny, Miss Lou. She cared for Jackson, Jeremiah and Jenna all day long in the hotel while John and I attended the Settlement Mediation in Spartanburg, SC. This lady is very very special and we became quite attached to her, and we also touched her life as well. When we came home she even called us to make sure we were ok and to chat with the kids. The kids decided to to call her "Nana Lou" because she is such a special and precious person. Nana Lou told us that our children were some of the most well-behaved, polite and loving children and she felt quite attached to them and wants to keep in touch with our family. We were very proud of our kids and look forward to seeing Nana Lou again one day.Every evening we ordered room service in the hotel. I always ordered the Veggie Wrap and a Stout or Samuel Adams. The brew came in an ice bucket and was such a yummy treat. Each night I took a long bath and set up the bed nice and cozy. Then I'd crawl in and eat while watching TV. The attorney's reserved 2 adjoining rooms for us, so it was so luxurious to have all that extra space, two bathrooms and two TVs....with cable, too! Even though the circumstances regarding our South Carolina visit weren't so wonderful, the hotel was a nice break from our every day lives and a sort of mini-vacation, too.
We stopped by our neighborhood in Rock Hill and we saw that our across-the-street neighbor's house, that had been destroyed by fire, had been rebuilt. It looks pretty nice, too. Much larger and not that dreadful blue anymore. (I do not like blue houses, and their blue house always annoyed me. hehe) That's our rental van in the photo. It was quite comfortable, though not as roomy as my Safari.
Here's our Rock Hill house, where we lived for 7 years before we had to sell it due to the accident on March 14 2005 that changed our lives and placed us in a different direction. The house basically looks the same with the leaves changing into the beautiful colors I remember.
