Cotton Kids

We checked out a farmer's cotton fields. The kids were amazed that someone a long time ago, thought to use the little fluff balls from the cotton plant to make clothing and fabrics. When you stand in a field full of cotton plants, it feels like your standing in a bowl full of popcorn. On the way home, the country roads were covered in white fluff from the blowing cotton.

Corn Field Maze, Fall 2005

I invited Margie & Jessie and all of our kids to hike a farm Corn Field maze. It was alot of fun following the trails, finding the markers, answering the questions, and following the clues to find our way out. All the kids worked together and everyone had a great time. And it was a gorgeous fall day in North Carolina!

Cow Train

The farm that hosted the Corn Field Maze had lots of other fun things to do, too. The kids got a kick out of shooting corn cobs from a cannon, playing in the Corn Crib and play ground, and riding a Cow Train all over the farm. The farmer took the kids on a very generous long ride all over the bumpiest areas of the farm. hehe!

Corn Crib and Corn Kisses

Margie, Jessie and I, and all of our kidlets spent a very long time playing in the Corn Crib. We had it all to ourselves and burrowing and throwing corn kernels can be addictive. We were all shaking corn out of our underwear when we got home. Too much fun!
