RHAH Savannah River Ecology Field Trip

This was one of my best ideas for an organized field trip that I scheduled for our RHAH group. The Savannah River Ecology Center is on the border of Georgia and South Carolina, which is about 1 1/2 hours from Rock Hill, so our group car-pooled and caravaned down there together.
It was well worth it!
The Ecology center educated and entertained everyone. They had so many fascinating things to show and tell us. They had an intriguing educational movie to share with our group, lots of indigenous animals and plant life too look at and touch or hold, a great question and answer session, too. We spent the entire day there at their wonderful working ecology facilities and we hiked some interesting terrain while learning about the animals in their own habitats, including a swamp area with unique fish, frogs, birds and even 'swamp caviar' (fish eggs).
Everyone enjoyed this field trip and I'm so glad that I set this one up, especially since the Savannah River Ecology center might be in it's last year because of lack of funding. What a shame......
