One of our favorite places to visit in Rock Hill, SC was a beautiful lake where we could ride our bikes, hike, and feed the ducks and geese. The evening was our most special time to visit because all the waterfowl flew onto the lake in flocks that would WHOOSH over our heads! But the most important time for us to visit the ducks and geese was Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas Day. Those are the days that people forgot about the ducks and geese, even though these beautiful creatures had come to rely on human hand-outs. We felt that it was important to remember them on these holidays and always went to the lake with big bags of bread and grain to enjoy their friendly honks and quacks.
