New Mexico RailRunner

Here we are waiting at the Journal Center station, for the Rail Runner Train for our little tour north to the Bernalillo station. I fell in love with the gorgeous tile work on the wall. The colors and design were exquisite!
Jackson & Jeremiah were a little squished at first, until Jeremiah found another seat to sit in. But they insisted on riding in the top Viewer Section of the train, so it was more crowded than the bottom section. But the windows were bigger and the seats much more comfortable, so the cozier situation was worth it.
Jenna sat on my lap and was so thrilled to be riding the train. Here she is saying, "WhooWhoo. Train!"
When we arrived in Bernalillo, I got out for a few minutes to take a photo of Jenna and look at the station.
During our trip we sat next to a friendly Japanese family. The little girl was 4 years old and so sweet and precocious. She was quite an artist and liked my tiger cat button so much that she asked if she could use it as a model to create a picture. Of course, I obliged and here she is showing her artwork. Magnificent!
While seated next to our new friends, they taught us some Japanese. We could see pastures filled with animals as the train traveled on the tracks. The Japanese words we learned were for Horse, Cow, and Cat. Horse sounds like "Ooma", Cow sounds like "Uuci", and cat sounds like "Necko".
Here's a pic of Jeremiah, Jackson and Jenna after the train ride. Today was the last day that the RailRunner offered their introductory free rides. RailRunner started their service on July 14th. We just love the brightly colored Road Runner logo and the fact that the train travels over 70 mph!
