Home Ec or Art Class?

Jackson created his first knitted hat project! Jackson chose his favorite color, purple, for the yarn. We did a very basic, simple stitch, but he amazed me with his skills and interest. The stitches were perfect and the hat looks great! And it only took him about 4 hours to complete!
So, would knitting a hat be considered a "home economics lesson" or an "art lesson"?
No matter......he had fun!
