Family Chess Moment

Jax and Jem play chess several times a day most days. Oftentimes, we also play foursome duels using both of their chess sets. Jackson's Pirates of the Carribean and Jeremiah's Lego Knights set.
They've been playing chess for about a year now, but ever since I came home from shopping at the Albuquerque Mother's of Twins yard sale 2 weeks ago, with a terrific Usborne Chess book, they've been trying out some new moves and strategies, and are getting extremely talented and competetive with their skills.

Jem and John playing. Of course, Jem is beating the socks off of John.

Jax set up his chess set for us and even laid out a large pillow for me to sit on because he knows that when Mama sits on the floor for long lengths of time, it's quite challenging for Mama to pry her old bones back up again. I'm so grateful for that sweet and thoughtful son of mine. Jackson even let me be Davie Jone's crew, while he played Captain Jack Sparrow's crew. And no he didn't beat me.....it was a stalemate with our two kings. We are so much alike, Jax and I!
