Jackson had suggested we let our crawfish have his freedom a few months ago, but it was tough for us to go through with that final step. We have grown quite fond of him and have learned so much about his species, too. We especially enjoyed watching his prowress in attacking live minnows and crickets that we fed him. And we just plain enjoyed having him around.
But we also felt it was time to show our appreciation, too. And that way was to give him back his freedom. So, last week we gave a proper releasing ceremony for our dear Lobster Mobster.
He had grown quite large this past year...and very active! He seemed to know that he was close to freedom!

Jackson actually grew teary eyed saying his goodbyes to Lobster Mobster.

Then we released him in the same place we had caught him: The Corrales Acequia behind Laura's house.
