First on our stop was a very unique park in Farmington, a place we never would have found or visited if it were not for some Girl Scout group letterboxers who wanted to share this litle gem of a park located in a most unlikely place.
To get there we had to drive through a large industrial/warehouse area until we came to a typical small park with playground. But that was there to only throw us off....the real treat came as we walked on a paved and gravel nature trail past a bridge and through the woods until it ended at a striking and beautiful World War Veterans Monument and park beside the river. This amazing historical park would have been very much at home in Washington, D.C.
At the center of this park is a unique and hands-on granite World Globe that literally floats on water and is fun to roll around as it splashes water all around. What a fun and impressive sculpture to discover.
Around the globe were also 5 gorgeous bronze sculptures of eagles.
Notice that Jackson is holding the letterbox. The clues were super simple. We also brought along our new kitty, Javalina, too.
Jackson and Jeremiah had a blast playing in the fast flowing muddy river beside the park.
