Homeschoolers don't need directions

A bunch of us Moms who have our kids in the Mid Rio Grande Homeschool Band enjoy hanging out together with our other kids in the church gym while our band kids are practicing. And after they are finished practicing, we even like to hang out some more! hehe

What impressed me most the other day was how some of the kids got together in the BASKETBALL gym and organized a BASEBALL game all on their own using whatever they could find to make their field and baseball equipment....with no direction, ideas or input from us parents.

If they had been public schoolers, they'd have probably asked for permission to start an activity, told us they were bored, got into mischief or trouble, or sat around not sure what to do....or just played basketball. Nope, not these self-starters, whole-life-learners. They go with the flow, show their creativity and their ability to think for themselves.
