Last week we toured a new Egyptian exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum, called Temples and Tombs. We went along with some friends from our homechool group and were very impressed with the amazing Egyptian artifacts we had the opportunity to see there (no photos permitted inside the exhibit). But we did take a few photos outside and in the children's enrichment area.
Outside the museum.Right outside the exhibit.Jenna trying out one of the sleeping head-rests that Egyptians used to keep their hair and wigs from getting mussed up. Very uncomfortable! Some of the kids playing an Egyptian game called 'Senet'.Jenna and her friend, Skye, practicing writing in hieroglyphics.
And afterwards we took a short walk through Old Town (my hips and knees have been bothering me recently, so I've been taking it easy from doing too much walking). The kids wanted to look for another cool pulsating light-up toy thing at the Old Town Basket Shop, because Jackson had dropped his other one and it stopped working. We also walked around the Christmas Shop, which was fun.
On the way back to the van, the boys were impressed with the High Noon Restaurant sign, which happened to be made of nails. So they asked me to take a photo.
With the boys' interests in Space and Rocketry, they insisted that we stop for a photo in front of one of their favorite places: The Atomic Museum in Albuquerque, across from Old Town.
