Coyotes Visit Us

Because of all this snow, our trash service didn't come to pick up our trash, which was pretty awful with all the Christmas boxes, wrapping paper, and leftovers overflowing everyone's trash cans.
The past two nights, a pack of coyotes has been making it's rounds around the neighborhood. John and Jeremiah actually saw them cruising our street the other night, and we have heard them, too.

The coyotes discovered our Christmas dinner leftovers, including the turkey carcass in our trash can, and devoured their banquet right in our front yard! We found what they left behind, including scat and pawprints, beside our juniper bushes, about 12 feet from our house.

This really isn't too odd seeing coyotes, because our home is directly down the street to the desert mesa, and we often see cottontails, roadrunners, coyotes, lizards, and snakes visiting our yards. But it's not common for us to experience the wildlife dumpster diving our trash cans and relaxing while enjoying a meal in our front yard.

Here's the leftover gnawed upon turkey carcass.
