BioPark~Letterboxing

We took a few hours last week to do a little bit of letterboxing, looking for a box placed by our Santa Fe Letterboxing friend, "LionsMane". The letterbox was hidden in one of our favorite places to visit, The Albuquerque BioPark, which includes the Rio Grande Zoo, Aquarium and Botanic Gardens. With our family membership we enjoy stopping into the BioPark whenever we have an hour or two to relax, explore and play.

Today we spent most of our time in the Rio Grande Heritage Farm, visiting with the farm animals, being impressed with all the beautiful produce growing in the fields, and pretending that the handsome farm house is ours to call home.

The kids at the farm. Jackson holding the letterbox!
Riding the John Deere tractor.
I love chickens!! These barred rock ladies are very friendly and followed me everytime I called them "Chick, Chick, Chickies!!"
Several pigs call the farm their home, too. These guys are very interactive and communicative with their silly grunts and squeals. We scratched their backs and ears and they made us laugh with their funny antics.
Mooo! A beautiful doe-eyed cow.
One of the gorgeous Percheron horses at the farm. Together, two of them team-up to pull a wagon and give rides to farm visitors.
We spent lots of time visiting with these friendly horses.
