We woke up this morning to snow falling and about 2-3" on the ground. All of the trees, bushes, and ground were covered in a soft blanket of beautiful white.
Our house in the mountains of New Mexico.(Click on photos for a larger view)
The view from our barn and pasture looking eastward to the back of our house and the snowy valley beyond.
Looking down from our master bathroom window towards the southwest and our backyard. Our loft balcony is to the left and our neighbor's horse barn in the distance. I love how the snow dusts the cedar, juniper and pinon trees here in the mountains. Looking down from the master bathroom window into the courtyard patio, where our koi pond is located. So far the metal panel covering most of the top, in conjunction with the fountain pump running, are both keeping the pond from freezing over and being covered with snow.Another photo of the koi pond later in the afternoon. Many many birds have been visiting today to enjoy the seeds we left for them in the birdfeeders and beside the back door(below the kitchen windows), along with a birdbath full of warm water. (Our cats enjoyed this up-close and personal treat the best!). I also added one of those suet cakes to the suet feeder and the Jays have been enjoying it very much. Jackson getting ready to go sledding.Jeremiah on his way to enjoy some sledding.Best Buddies loving each other and the snow fun, too!Looking out our master bedroom doors onto our balcony.
